Welcome to the The Vice-Bishops' blues band home page!

Based in Uttoxeter the Vice-Bishops' have been playing in and around the Midlands for a number of years now and have built a solid reputation as one of the tightest, most enthusiastic and reliable bands around.

Although we have kept the “blues” tag our repertoire ranges through blues to rock and jazz moods and has converted all types of audience through a mix of carefully chosen covers and self-penned compositions.  We have found appeal with audiences which have varied widely in age and musical tastes but which ultimately share our own enthusiasm for good music.

We all play because we love playing and have retained a continuing interest in the music we play - we find that interest is infectious and is what keeps us and our audiences coming back for more!

Described as 'reminiscent of the Allman Brothers' the twin guitar playing of Dave Faulkner and Pod Malkin sets the band apart. From sweet harmonies to blistering exchanges, the guitars complement and inspire each other to ever greater heights - whilst the band's rhythm section of Dave Blant on bass and Fred Hopwood on drums provides a rocking solid foundation.

Dave Faulkner's song writing is increasingly featured, both in the band's live repertoire and on their two CDs to date 'House of Cards' and 'Caught in the Crossfire'.

Like all the Bishop's repertoire the arrangements have a twist to them which maintains a level of interest beyond the classic 12-bar shuffle with influences ranging from jazz to rock flavouring the mix.

Booking the band:

Many venues now have increasingly long lead times for bookings so we are now looking to start filling our 2008 diary and also to fill some remaining 2007 dates where we can. September 2007 is mainly spoken for at present with band and other commitments but we do have some availability thereafter.

If you are a promoter and have dates you have yet to fill in 2007 / 2008 we would be delighted to hear from you - you wont be disappointed!
